A Day of Gratitude

Good morning! I was up early enough this morning with a wide-awake baby to think, people are just starting their Black Friday shopping…and I couldn’t have been more happy to be in my slippers and pajamas with a cup of hot tea and a happy baby.

I hope your Thanksgiving holiday yesterday was filled with love, family, gratitude…and lots of delicious food! I know ours very much was and it was wonderful.

My sister, brother-in-law and I ran the Turkey Dash in support of the Karen P. Nakon Breast Cancer Foundation early yesterday morning and it was the perfect way to start my Thanksgiving day and set my intention for a day of giving and thankfulness. With over 1400 runners and walkers there to help raise money for this non-profit, the spirit of giving was everywhere. It was a 5k race and we ran the whole things in a fierce windy snow but it was fantastic! I’ve been training for the Cleveland Half-Marathon this coming spring for the past 4 weeks and this was my first official training race, so my sister pushed my pace and we beat my personal time goal – score!

It’s also my son’s first holiday season and I can hardly believe it’s already been almost a year since he arrived into our family. These two little ones are the biggest, best blessing in my life and I thank God every day for blessing me with such beautiful, happy and healthy kids…amen!
