I just got out of the very first vinyasa yoga class at Erica Traster Yoga’s new studio and I couldn’t be more excited to share with you all about it! Having met in college, I’ve known Erica for over 8 years and she has become one of my closest, dearest friends. I like to think of ourselves as kindred spirits, often struggling with the same challenges with careers, purpose and ultimately living a life of passion.
Having quit law school only two years ago, Erica has since earned her yoga instructor certification with Marni Task’s Jivasara 200-hour Teacher Training and has been teaching since May 2012. And today, just a short 6 months later, she has opened her very own studio space and I couldn’t be more proud of her and the journey she has taken!
My favorite part of Erica’s success is her sheer determination. She knew law school wasn’t the right fit and was brave enough to walk away from a path that wasn’t meant for her. It’s scary not knowing what comes next but Erica knew yoga was where her heart was and had enough courage to start a new, unknown journey. Taking one of her classes, you can feel her passion and love for what she is doing shine out of her – what an inspiration for all of us struggling to discover our own way and finding the courage to take the unknown road to live out our passions!
