My photography class for the Cleveland Photographic Society made our last practice field trip this weekend to the Rockefeller Park Greenhouse, a beautiful gem tucked away in University Circle. Having never been there before (I had actually never even heard of it. The more popular attraction in the area is the Cleveland Botanical Gardens – not to confuse the two!), I was extremely surprised by the quality of the indoor greenhouse and the outdoors gardens and would love to visit again when everything is in full bloom next summer.
Owned and operated by the City of Cleveland, the greenhouse was originally used to just grow and supply landscaping plants for the the city parks and gardens, but the project has evolved into a botanical garden with specialty plants and seasonal displays. The best part is parking & admission into the gardens are both free!
