“We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.”
-Native American Proverb
This video makes me extremely sad and feeling a bit hopeless at how much was have ruined things for ourselves. Our world is in a devastated state and it is our generation’s calling to stand up and change what has been done. Can you blame Mother Earth for being mad? Take a look at the last 5-10 years of natural disaster around the world. Tsunamis, hurricanes, earthquakes, global warming – how much more can we unload on the earth and not expect her to break, to literally fall apart beneath us?
The condition and future of our home is in our hands and it is up to us to make smart lifestyle decisions that focus on reversing our destructive ways. We need to remember that there is hope. This challenge can define our generation, be our legacy to our children. Let us be the ones to “Save the Planet.” We are an intelligent species. We have the capabilities, the technology and the intelligence to change. We need to constantly stand up for what we believe in, to life it out every day.
“There’s so much pollution in the air now that if it weren’t for our lungs there’d be no place to put it all.”
P.S. – EarthFest activities were very COLD but very inspiring! I think I’ve unthawed a bit and now I am ready to dive in and DO something. Treat every day as Earth Day and we’d all be much farther along 🙂
