We spent the last 3 days at Hocking Hills with our bestest friends for a relaxing weekend in a secluded cabin. Hocking Hills has a wonderful local state park with caves, hiking, waterfalls and rock houses. Our family use to trek down there every summer and spend the week in the state cabins and I have many great memories of the place from our numerous trips. My husband, not really being the camping type, had never been there, so it was a treat to share such a fond place from my childhood with him.
Our weekend consisted of corn hole, s’mores and the hot tub on Friday evening. We arrived right before dinner and spend the night unwinding from the week and getting into “vacation mode.” Saturday we were a bit more adventurous. We first visited Cedar Falls and hiked the 5 mile path back and forth to Old Man’s Cave. The next stop was Ash Cave, which is always my most favorite thing to see. I could just feel the ancient native american history engrave in the large stone cave. Our last park visit was the Rock House. And we made the long journey home Sunday afternoon, with a minor pit stop at Easton for a shopping break 🙂
